Focus Youth Dance Company will premiere it’s current piece Symbiosis at DanceDigital’sEmerge artist platform.

Symbiosis, still in production has already been selected Youth Dance England’s regional showcase Radiate in March. The video below shows excerpts from the rehearsal process and extracts of digital tests for the piece using DanceForms 3D.

Using DanceForms (a 3d visualisation tool used for sketching out choreographic ideas), FOCUS members have been manipulating digital dancers to create and discover a highly articulated movement language that can be transferred from screen to body and reversed.

A Blank Canvas from choreographer Heather Eddington’s dance company State of Flux will be showing at Trestle Arts Base in February and during DanceDigital’s Emerge Eastern Region Artist Platform.

This will be the fourth time that DanceDigital have worked with Heather to present A Blank Canvas in the region. It has been previously resident with South East Essex College in Southend, Essex County Council in Chelmsford and St. Albans Verulamium. The installation, which runs for 15 minutes, recounts the personal stories of dancers using a mixture of dance, film and animation. The film blends the use of colour, shape and texture with various animation techniques to create an animating world through which the dancers interact with each other and the on-screen objects.

You can see the full length video below. The set-up of the installation will be across 6 LCD screens on a custom-built stand in the foyer of Trestle Arts Base.
